What is a Voice Modem?
|
Top |
| In simplistic terms a voice modem is a normal modem with the ability to play and record voice data. You can think of a voice modem as a normal modem with a sound card attached to it. Most voice modems also support caller ID and a few even support speakerphone.

| Today voice modems are very inexpensive $20 or so. If Call Soft works with your voice modem then good but not all voice modems are treated equally. About half of voice modem are worthless. They either hang up on callers, sound horrible or can't properly detect DTMF signals (tones sent by callers). If your looking to buy a voice modem check our recommended modem page at http://www.mycallsoft.com/modems.html.
