| Call Soft Pro was designed to monitor only a single line. However, it's possible to monitor additional lines, by simply running another copy (instance) of Call Soft Pro and providing it a user name. The user name or line name is used to differentiate one Call Soft Pro from another. If you simply run two instances of Call Soft Pro, monitoring different lines, problems will arise when logging incoming and outgoing calls and there will be configuration conflicts

| To get around this problem you can specify a user name as a command line parameter. Call Soft Pro will setup a new configuration and use different incoming and outgoing log files. This way two Call Soft Pro's can run and not interfere with each other.

| By default when you run Call Soft Pro your user name is "Default". This is because there is no command line parameter specified. So you can use your existing Call Soft Pro to monitor your first line. Next you need to create another Call Soft Pro to monitor your second line.

| Create another shortcut to Call Soft Pro to be used to monitor line 2:

| We are going to create a shortcut to Call Soft Pro onto your desktop. This will be the icon you will double click to run the second instance of Call Soft Pro.

| Click the Windows "Start" button and go to "Programs" then "Call Soft Pro". RIGHT click on the Call Soft Pro icon and while holding your RIGHT mouse button down move the cursor to a blank area on your desktop then release. A menu will appear, select "Create Shortcut(s) here".

| Define the user name:
|
| To specify a user name, right click on the Call Soft Pro icon you just put onto your desktop. A menu will appear. Select "Properties". The properties dialog window will appear. Find the "Target" line and at the end, add the user name you wish to use. This is called the command line. The text after the program name will be sent to Call Soft Pro as a parameter. In the example below "line2" was used. When you are finished click "Of" to close the properties dialog window.

| Now to monitor line 1 run Call Soft Pro from the "Start" menu i.e. "Start" -> "Programs" -> "Call Soft Pro".

| To monitor line 2 double click the icon you created on your desktop. The configurations from the first Call Soft Pro will not be carried over to this new one, so you will have to re-setup this new instance.

| Note: When a user name is specified it will show in the title bar on Call Soft encased in parentheses. For example: Call Soft (line2)
