Import older Call Soft files

Call Soft can import from older version of Call Soft or Call Soft.

There are four file types that can be imported

1.

Incoming call histories.

2.

Phonebook

3.

Fax numbers

4.

Mailboxes

Import incoming call history:

This will really merge an older call history with your current call history.

To import an older call history file, right click on the mailbox tree view and select "Import -> Old Call History".

You will be asked for the Call history file to import. Call history files are always named "RX Call History.log" unless you had setup a second line, in this case the file would be named "line-RX Call History.log" where "line" is the name you gave the second line.

If you are trying to import from Call Soft version 2.3.12 or less, you should find a call history in it's folder "C:\Program File\Call Soft".

Import phonebook:

To import an older phonebook file, right click on the phonebook group (tree view next to phone book list) you want the imported names to appear in and select "Import -> Old Call Soft Phonebook".

You will be asked for the old phonebook file to import. Phonebook files are always named "Call Soft Phonebook.pb" unless you have setup a second line in this case the file would be named "line-Call Soft Phonebook.pb" where "line" is the name you gave the second line.

If you are trying to import from Call Soft version 2.3.12 or less, you should find a phonebook in it's folder "C:\Program File\Call Soft".

Import fax numbers:

Call Soft Beta version 3.0.32 and above use a different method of storing phonebook data than any prior version. Prior versions also used a separate file (faxnumbers.xml) to store fax numbers. Fax numbers are now part of the phone book e.g. there is a single file not two.

To import an old fax number file, right click on the phonebook group (tree view next to phone book list) you want the imported fax numbers to appear in and select "Import -> Old Call Soft Fax Numbers".

You will be asked for the old fax number file to import. Fax numbers were always named "faxnumbers.xml" regardless if you had a second line.

If you are trying to import from Call Soft version 2.3.12 or less, you should find your fax numbers in it's folder "C:\Program File\Call Soft".

Import mailboxes:

This is provided as a means for you to import mailboxes from a Call Soft version 3.0.31 or less.

Importing a mailbox will delete your existing mailbox.

To import an older mailbox file right click on the mailbox tree view and select "Import -> Old Call Mailboxes".

You will be asked for the old mailbox file. Mailboxes files were always named "MailBoxes.cmb" unless you had setup a second line, in this case the file would be named "line-MailBoxes.cmb" where "line" is the name you gave the second line.
