| The dialing setup is where you tell Call Soft information that is need to dial and track your phone calls.

| Note that these settings are useful only when you use Call Soft to dial for you i.e. If you make a call from another phone in the house Call Soft has no way of knowing it.

| My local area codes are:
|
| Enter the area code or codes that are local to you. Many cities use 10 digit dialing i.e. you always have to dial the area code. To enter multiple area codes delimit them using a comma. Area codes can be any length and you can enter as many as you wish. If you are using an IP phone, like Vonage, where you always have to dial a 1 before any number leave this field blank and put a 1 in the "To access my long distance service" field. This way Call Soft will treat every outbound call as a long distance call.

| My area requires 10 digit dialing:

| Check this if you always have to dial the area code for local calls. This is so Call Soft can place calls correctly. For example, in Houston we have several area codes (713,281,832,936 etc.). However if you are in the 713 area code and want to call someone in the 281 area code you would dial 281-xxx-xxxx NOT 1-281-xxx-xxxx.

| If your phone system requires 11 digits where you always have to dial 1 + area code + number then don't specify an area code and enable 10 digit dialing. This way all calls will dial correctly because they will be treated as long distance.

| To access my long distance service dial this number first:
|
| This is the number that will precede any long number that is long distance. In most cases this will simply be a 1. If you use 1010 service i.e. 1010321 then enter that number here. Call Soft knows what numbers are local and long distance because of the local area codes you specify. For example, if you live in the 318 area code and try to call "Robert", whose number is, 713-555-1212.

| If you have a 1 in this box Call Soft would dial 1-713-555-1212 if you had 1010321 Call Soft would dial 1010321 713-555-1212.

| Long distance cost:
|
| If you want Call Soft to track the cost of long distance calls for you enter the cost per minute here. Remember the call must be made by Call Soft you can use another phone if you wish but to track the cost let Call Soft dial the number.

| If failed to connect, try this many times before giving up:
|
| In the event the line is busy or some other error that prevents the call from being made (faxes includes) then try again this many times. The default is 10.
|
|
|
| Number of days to keep history of outgoing calls.
|
| Call Soft keeps track of outgoing calls. They can be seen in the outgoing call list. Specify how many days you want this list to go back.
|
